Crowned by Evil.
Bound by Duty.
Divided by Love.

❤“They reached that moment when there was nothing more between them at all, Celaena kissed deeply and gave him everything she had.”
❤“I’d be the greatest fool in the world to let you go alone.”
❤“Some things you hear with your ears. Others, you hear with your heart.”
❤“But death was her curse and her gift, and death had been her good friend these long, long years.”

Celaena Sardothien, royal assassin, is the King of Adarlan’s deadliest weapon. She must win her freedom through his enemies’ blood – but she cannot bear to kill for the crown. And every death Celaena fakes, every lie she tells, put those she loves at risk.

Torn between her two protectors – a captain and a prince – and battling a dark force far greater than the king, Celaena must decide what she will fight for: her liberty, her heart or the fate of a kingdom…

My Review

I didn’t wait a day to start the Crown of Midnight and it only took a day to finish. Sarah J. Maas knows how to hook up her readers. I’m not going to talk about the writing as we’ve discovered and established that she writes raw and beautiful, so this review is solely for the TOG series!

Celaena Sardothien is the deadly assassin that the world fears, arguably king’s puppet and admired and feared by any and all men that know her. Crown of Midnight starts from introducing many more characters, following the story line richly and complimenting the old ones beautifully.

There are so many characters that I absolutely fell for like :

Dorian – Our handsome prince with kind heart
Choal – A mysterious guard with loyalty beyond life’s worth
Nehemia – The exotic Princess, friend to our beloved Assassin
Archer – The male Courtesan, why is he important again?
Baba Yellowlegs – The iron teeth witch
Perrington – The Jerk we all hate
Fleetfoot – The bitch that we all like

The story has romance, adventure, blood, history, friendships, magic, and so much of thrill. I cried for the loss of the loved ones, I grinned and blushed on the dances and kisses, I held my breath with the fights, Throne of Glass series only gets more intense and grasping by the book, I couldn’t recommend it enough to fantasy readers!

But wait,

  • Does Arobynn Hamel Return?
  • What truth will be discovered about Sardothien?
  • Caleana kills someone she used to care about – who?

Well, Read Crown of Midnight to know it all. oh and there’s soon to be Series out as well, watch the trailer here.

  1. That was such a nice and serene book review, I have not read Pride and Prejudice yet lol because of work and extra work at weekends but I’m trying I guess.

Btw you wrote in your profile that you are an entrepreneur (who takes risk to startup a business all by themselves) but if that’s true then how could you manage reading a book In a day unless you are on some hyperactivity drug or something lol?

    • ah you must read it! I want to read it again as well, I’ll probably get myself a new copy once I’m in Pakistan.

and I guess my abnormal heaps of caffeine intake are now justified 😀 it wasn’t a big book btw, just 400 pages that I could manage ending in a day

May you have a great journey (back – if you belong here) to Pakistan.
