#TheFriday56 is a weekly Friday meme started by Freda where you turn to page 56 of your current read or 56% on Kindle or any other e-reader and then quote from that page. You can pick one sentence or more depending on needed and then accompany it with a suitable creative picture. You can ping back to my page or Freda’s and also share your own meme links in the comments below. Good luck loves!

I recently read Miss Peregrine’s Home For Peculiar Children– Book 1 in the Peculiar Series by a Author Ransom Riggs and hence picked it up for this week’s Meme.

Miss Peregrines Home for Peculiar Children“I could not have been less in the mood for a party. I’d known I was in for one the moment my parents began dropping unsubtle hints…

…they worried I spent too much time alone, clinging to the notion that socializing was therapeutic. So was electroshock, I reminded them…

We’d just come home from my disastrous session with Dr. Golan.”

For those of you who haven’t read the series yet, well I hope you would before you watch the movie. It’s not quotable but I liked it as it’s super odd and different with a good concept, I wouldn’t vouch for the writing but it’s really unique and you’re going to love the pictures. Though at some points, the pictures and the story don’t align as it looks classic but told in a modern way. Nevertheless, it hooks you up enough to go through the trilogy. I’m yet to read Library of Soul but I’m excited about it.

A mysterious island. An abandoned orphanage. A strange collection of curious photographs.

A horrific family tragedy sets sixteen-year-old Jacob journeying to a remote island off the coast of Wales, where he discovers the crumbling ruins of Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children. As Jacob explores its abandoned bedrooms and hallways, it becomes clear that the children were more than just peculiar. They may have been dangerous. They may have been quarantined on a deserted island for good reason. And somehow—impossible though it seems—they may still be alive.

A spine-tingling fantasy illustrated with haunting vintage photography, Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children will delight adults, teens, and anyone who relishes an adventure in the shadows.
